The Eclipses of June & July 2010 by Janet Moon

Eclipses June 26 and July 11, 2010

Eclipses bring changes and they usually come in pairs, and this summer will be no exception. We will also have some outer planets waging war at the same time, so the eclipses may get blamed for things they really are not responsible for. Either way, there could be some difficulties ahead, and my forecast is for a "hot" summer.

The first eclipse is a full moon partial lunar eclipse on June 26th. Normally partial eclipses don't carry the wallop of total eclipses, but this eclipse is going to have 4 major planets at negative aspects to it. There could be personal problems, quarrels, aggression, worry, and erratic and impractical behavior. We could also begin to experience these incidents as early as 3 weeks before the eclipse, and even a week after. This will especially affect cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn). It's going to be a spiritual muscle builder, and how we deal with the challenges ahead will show us just where our characters stand. We can whine, lie, and manipulate our way though it, or we can temper our impulses and own up to our mistakes. It's going to be one of those pop quizzes, but only you and your higher power will see the real score.

The second eclipse on July 11th will be a total solar eclipse. Total eclipses do carry more emphasis than the other types of eclipses, but this eclipse will get blamed for more chaos than it will actually create. This eclipse will be making a positive aspect to Mars, which could encourage us to act on our ideas.

July 11th (or a week or 2 before) could actually be a very good time to launch a new business or project. The negative energy that will be floating about at the same time will be coming from all the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) fighting amongst themselves. This eclipse will bring changes for people with dominate Cancer or Capricorn, but it will also influence Virgo and Aries.

Now it's time for the technical part. The eclipse on June 26th will be at 4 degrees 50 minutes Capricorn. If you have any inner planets (Mercury through Mars) or power points (Ascendant, Nadir, Descendent, and Mid-heaven) between 2 degrees and 7 degrees in Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn, this eclipse could bring problems in the areas of your life determined by the planets and houses.

The eclipse on July 11th will be at 19 degrees 24 minutes Cancer. If you have any inner planets or power points between 17 degrees and 22 degrees again in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn), there will probably be a change in your life determined by the planets and houses affected.

Changes, even good changes, can be stressful, so contact your favorite astrologer for details on how this eclipse will influence your chart. If you would like to know more about the conflicts with the outer planets happening this Summer, you can check out my article, "Jupiter Joins the Game Packing a Concealed Weapon." It's going to be an exciting summer, so think like a boy scout and be prepared.
