The Month of Aquarius 2007

By Sharita Star

Our Sun transits into the fixed air and masculine energy of Aquarius at 6:01am EST on January 20th. This organized sign asks us to find ways to bring the new and improved to our lives as we settle into winter. Known as the Water Bearer, our Aquarian natives often are the masters of invention that bring renewed life to wherever change is needed.

The planet Uranus governs our intellectual innovators, granting them the tolerance to deal with the unexpected. Being they are the strivers for beneficial change for humanity, it is often the larger picture they choose to focus upon rather than intimacy in their relationships. The element of air grants the Aquarian a friendly nature, seeking all kinds of liberal and experimental alliances.

The key ingredient in the viewpoint of the Water Bearer is originality. Consciously aiming to seek truth, the typical Aquarian is driven by a deep sense of altruism. Fearless of obstacles, they can foster success in the areas of science, technological advancements or anywhere their eccentric and insightful visions for the future can be applied.

With the innate abilities to investigate, co-ordinate, brainstorm, synthesize, and plan, ultimately an Aquarian’s outcome is reform. At worst they can display personas that are opinionated, remote, agnostic, vast, tactless, unpredictable and obstinate. By cultivating warmth, adapting to practicality, along with the recognition that personal touch is essential for the continued evolution of humanity, the Aquarian native will find balance within their soul.

The Sun’s transit through Aquarius provides us the space to reflect and ponder the areas that need change in our world. Winter marks the season we naturally await rebirth. Thus this is the perfect time to unleash our brilliant game plans for personal reform, as well as the ones for the world at large.

Get ready for the Universe’s gift of more reflective time as Mercury goes Retrograde in Pisces 11:38pm EST upon February 13th until 11:44pm EST, March 7th. Look for this period to be full of the typical mercurial last minute changes and delays, and be mindful of all the Mercury Retrograde do’s and don’ts. While our Messenger “swims” back through Pisces, the potential on the collective is high for illogical emotional reactions; as it reverses back to 25 degrees Aquarius, communications break down on a more abstract and scientific level.

2007’s month of Aquarius concludes as Pisces begins with the ringing in of the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Pig, Fire year. In the legend of how the Chinese Zodiac came to be, the Pig was the last animal to come to Buddha; so like our Piscean friends here in the West, both are the final sign to complete each system’s wheel. Interestingly enough, both Pigs and Piscean natives are guided by the element of water and feminine energy; resulting in their similarity of possessing a sensual nature, a love of the arts, an appreciation of privacy and an easy going personality that is helpful to others. This 2007-2008 Fire Pig year marks a time of bravery, adventure, optimism and the potential to reach great heights of achievement for worthwhile causes.

May your individual spirit shine as you bring forth change.
